Curriculum

The Ministry of Education of Indonesia implemented the 2013 Curriculum in all secondary schools. This curriculum puts emphasize more on scientific approaches with problem-based learning, discovery-based learning, and project-based learning.

MTsN1 Mataram uses this curriculum since then and aside from that, this school is under the Ministry of Religious Affairs since it was an Islamic school.

The sustainable support programs of MTsN1 Mataram are the following:

The learning material in English is focusing on language competency as a tool of communication in conveying ideas and knowledge. In addition, students are suggested to accustom to understand, summarize and present the texts with their own language. The students get used to express themselves and their knowledge with convincing language spontaneously.

Teaching plan related to my major

As I start my teaching experience in MTsN1 Mataram I introduced myself first to the students for us to know each other and to give some insights about the Philippines. Through this, I can get their attention and willingness to learn and listen to my lessons.

Before going to Indonesia I asked the Indonesian students who also part of the same program I’m in and was assigned to CBSUA main campus about the lesson plan that they are using in Indonesia. And also as I introduced to my cooperating teacher in MTsN1 Mataram I do the same thing, but the problem is it is written in Bahasa language so I gave a sample of my lesson plan in the Philippines and asked the similarities of the two and he told me to use the lesson plan in the Philippines since the content and the process are the same. I utilized the 4As approach as I made my lesson plan.

I had given one chapter to teach, a continuous lesson for 6 meetings and it is also the lesson given to me by my cooperating teacher in my final demonstration.
