History and development of MTsN1 Mataram

Established and opened on August 1, 1979 as a separation from PGAN (6years) Mataram;
-
3 lower level classes become MTsN1 Mataram
-
class 3 at the top level becomes MAN 2 Mataram.

At first, MTsN 1 Mataram used 7 local classes and still rode in MAN 2 Mataram.
-
It was only in 1980 that it had its own building on the road of development B.III Mataram.

History travel MTsN 1 Mataram

Until 1990 NTS Private and Filial MTs
-
Until 1994, developing private MTs and Filials was only on the island of Lombok; (MTsN Bima Mandiri).
-
In 1997, developing private MTs was only in West Lombok Regency (MTsN Praya and Selong were established).
-
From 1997 to 2003, fostering private MTs in the City of Matara, (MTsN Kediri and Kuripan were established.
-
In 2003, there are 7 developing private MTs in the city of Mataram, which were members of KKM; (standing MTsN 2 and MTsN 3).

They changed the name from MTsN Mataram into MTsN 1 Mataram.

1995 to 2003 fostering the open MTs of Mataram.

1998 won Madrasah Model status with 52 MTs in Indonesia as a Pilot Madrasas;
-
2007-2012 was pioneered as an Excellent Madrasah and International Standard in NTB region and Eastern Indonesia.

In the next 4 years, the objectives to be achieved by MTs N 1Mataram include:

To be a superior madrasa in the fields of morality, religious science, science and technology, language and culture and sports and arts.

Graduates memorize the Qur'an at least 30 juz and selected hadiths.

TEACHING SYSTEM
The teaching system of MTsN1 Mataram starts with instructional planning, from lesson plans to instructional materials. Actual delivery of the lesson based on the competencies in the curriculum and the assessment and evaluation in students' learnings.
Every Monday is the flag-raising ceremony where the singing of the national anthem of Indonesia has been done. It takes almost an hour to have their flag-raising ceremony for there is a speech given by the teachers assigned. The class schedule on Monday to Thursday is different on Friday and Saturday. On Monday to Thursday class ends at 2:40 pm while on Friday and Saturday it ends at 11:00 in the morning.
MATERIALS AND OTHER LEARNING RESOURCES
There are different learning materials that students can borrow and use from the library. They also have a CBT room where the finals semester examination is being held. There are laboratories for science and language, skill room for the artwork of the students. Every classroom has its own LCD projectors and speakers.
They also have their materials for physical activities such as balls for soccer and basketball. The main ground of the school serves as a playground for the students in their physical education subjects.
MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION SYSTEM
Evaluation for students is done before and after the teaching and learning process. There are two evaluation processes in MtsN 1 Mataram, one is for competency and the other is for skills. They also have remedial and enhancement programs for the students.

Curriculum
The Ministry of Education of Indonesia implemented the 2013 Curriculum in all secondary schools. This curriculum puts emphasize more on scientific approaches with problem-based learning, discovery-based learning, and project-based learning.
MTsN1 Mataram uses this curriculum since then and aside from that, this school is under the Ministry of Religious Affairs since it was an Islamic school.
